Sanctuaire de l’Enfant Jesus de Prague

Liège, Belgium

The Shrine of the Infant Jesus of Prague (Sanctuaire de l’Enfant Jésus de Prague), located in Liège province, is the testimony of a troubled history, which started in Prague with the veneration of a statue of Infant Jesus in the Church of Our Lady of Victory. The Carmelites, who start praying the Infant Jesus and the statue received after the devastation of the wars of the 17th century, experienced many miracles and protection in times of adversity, which led to the spread of the popularity of the Infant Jesus first in Bohemia and then in the whole world, reaching the Belgian Shrine of Horion-Hozémont. The miracles and the troubled history of the statue of the Infant Jesus testify Christ’s willingness to enter in communion with us and the love and peace that we can experience, if we place Him in the centre of our actions and thoughts every day of our life.
